Premier was an early adopter of natural gas for over the road trucking and its fleet of CNG tractors has continued to grow since it's first deployed CNG tractors in 2011.
OUR CNG FLEET:
Provides fuel cost savings
It reduces foreign oil dependence
Is low in carbons
Is near-zero emissions
Is the best diesel/gasoline alternative
OUR CNG STATION
April 14, 2014 – Premier Transportation celebrated the grand opening of it's first public fast-fill CNG station located onsite at Premier's headquarters in Forest Park GA.
The station is open for 24/7 access for those filling compressed natural gas vehicles (CNG). The addition of our CNG fueling station ensures the availability of CNG to Premier's fleet, but also provides a fuel source for the growing number of CNG vehicles in or passing through the South East Atlanta Area.
SMARTWAY Transport Partner
Premier Transportation is proud to be an active participant in the EPA's SmartWay Program.
As a Smartway transport partner we are committed to benchmark operations, tracking fuel consumption and improved performance annually.
Additional Sustainabiltiy Programs
We actively provide long-term solutions for our retail partners that maximize recycling efforts and minimize landfill contribution. We have programs that recycle hangars, cardboard, and plastic. Excess hangers are accumulated, sorted and repackaged. Cardboard constitutes over 70% of all materials that retailers recycle, making it a central item in our recycling program.
Columbus OH was our first on-site solar project. Solar energy is a resource that is not only sustainable for energy consumption, it is renewable. We are always looking for ways not just to conserve energy, but also to create energy.
Our offices have been converted to LED lighting. LED lighting supports sustainable design in several ways. It uses less energy than most other types of lamps, lasts longer (which means less frequent replacement and therefore reduced waste), is mercury-free, and can be recycled.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid
Our Fleet uses DEF. Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a non-hazardous solution, which is 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionized water. DEF is sprayed into the exhaust stream of diesel vehicles to break down dangerous NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water
